Before our break we took a listen to some of the music by the glorious romantic composers. the romantic style is marked by its use of folk tunes, it’s narrative nature and it leanings towards the dramatic. Much of the music that was produced during this time period was written to commemorate historical watershed or major events and has endured the passage of time becoming well know musical moments and even being used in movies and advertising. These are the composers we will listen to in class:
